Essential Functions:

  • Reports directly to Lead Banquet Cook.
  • Assist Lead Banquet Cook in daily preparations for events and catering.
  • Creates food displays including fruit carvings.
  • Prepare, cook, and serve items according to recipes and SOP’s.
  • Manage timing of all events to ensure highest food quality.
  • Ensure that food quality, freshness, and flavor is top priority.
  • Exceed all standards in regards to cleanliness, sanitation, and safety.
  • Plate and serve all foods.
  • Clean and maintain work areas and walk-ins.
  • Occasionally work action stations for events such as carving or omelet station.
  • Maintain all kitchen and company standards in accordance with kitchen and company policies including but not limited to: job performance, attendance, guest service, interpersonal relations, and appearance.
  • Must be able to use all kitchen equipment including grill, fryer, ovens, commercial sized steamer, flat top, burners, smoker, outdoor grill, etc.
  • Must maintain grooming standards in accordance with health code standards.
  • Must be organized and efficient when working with 10-30 events in one week.
  • Must be able to process large quantities and keep all menu items within proper portions to ensure food cost and proper food quantities.
  • Must be creative and focused on upscale presentations and plating.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and handle high volume and fast paced environments.
  • Must be punctual, reliable, and flexible with work schedule.


 

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

 

Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must have valid CA Food Handler Card or ServSafe (or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire).

 

Minimum Experience required:

  • Must have at least 2 years kitchen/banquet experience in a high volume or multi outlet facility.

                

Skills Required:

  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service to all clients.
  • Ability to work with a large team.
  • Ability to work in a high pressure environment.
  • Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.
  • Efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Must have open availability and able to work anywhere from 20-40+ hours a week on a regular basis
  • Schedule is determined from scheduled events, which vary from early morning, and late nights
  • Must have passion and drive for this position and must be open to learn.
