Performance Coach Job Summary: 

To provide educated, challenging, and progressive training to athletes of all ages who enroll in the Strength and Conditioning Program with an elite level of customer service that is representative of the Arden Hills Brand.

Department:  Fitness

Reports to / Supervision Received:  Director of Sports Medicine

Employment Status:  Part-Time

Essential Functions:

  • Candidate will work with a variety of clients.

  • Provide exceptional guest service – must have friendly demeanor and ability to speak with members regarding any comments or issues that may arise.

  • Must be organized, motivated, and prepared for work every day. 

  • Perform all general maintenance of the room; checking all equipment on a daily basis to make sure that it is in good standing.

  • Provide clients with appropriate feedback on how to safely perform all activities.

  • Ensure proper cleanliness of facility.

  • Follow all Arden Hills and Fitness Department policies and procedures.

  • Attendance required at department meetings.

  • Work as a team with the entire Fitness Department.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (in progress or equivalent) in Kinesiology or related field is preferred.

  • Valid personal training certification (NSCA, NASM, or ACSM certification preferred)

  • Must have valid CPR certification and be in good standing with the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association. 

  • Experience working with clients in an individual and small group setting.   

  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service to all clients.

  • Ability to work with a large team.

  • Ability to work in a high pressure environment.

  • Positive attitude, professional manner, and appearance in all situations.

  • Efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision.

  • Available to work evenings and weekends.

  • Ability to maintain relationships with members, guests, employees and management.


  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

  • All new-hires must pass a drug screen for illegal substances.
